A quick FYI about my new book, In the Doghouse: A Couple’s Breakup from Their Dog’s Point of View, and how the publishing industry works for indie authors.
Now is the time to order it if you are anxious to get my new book when it releases on April 16th, because this week, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and bookstores will tell my publisher how many books they need based on the pre-orders. The publisher will then print and ship the inventory to the vendors for release on April 16th. If you wait to order the paperback or hardcover book after this week, even if you are a Prime member with Amazon, lead and shipping times will probably be more like 2 weeks, not 2 days, unfortunately.
Plus, if you do pre-order, you will get 2 free months from DOGTV. Just email me your order deets and I’ll give you the coupon code: teri@tericase dot com.
Thanks for being you!

Skip is a rescued dog who wants to matter. He loves living in a blissful pack with his human couple, John and Lucy, and he has bow-vowed to never lose them. But when John walks out after seven happy years, Skip and Lucy’s world is turned upside down. Skip is determined to guide Lucy through her identity crisis, but he’s guarding a secret: he’s to blame for the breakup and her broken heart.
Now, with the help of a hoarder neighbor, a stray cat, and a boy with autism, Skip must build a new pack for himself and Lucy before she discovers his canine treason and kicks him to the curb.

Dear Me,
Today is our birthday! I’m turning 54, while you celebrate your 28th birthday. Some things are about to happen. We dislike surprises, so I want to prepare you.
In two months, divorce proceedings will begin, and you don’t have a job. You’re probably going to start wondering why you quit your public relations job at that large medical center to become a full-time mom. Sweet Mason is only ten months old when his father moves out. Did I already say you don’t have a job? Right. Even though you’ll soon start to question the decision to quit working outside the home, you did what was best for Mason. Don’t wallow in regret!
Right about now, Mason is learning how to sit up alone, how to crawl. He’s getting a new tooth. In two months, on the day that the Big Thing happens, Mason is going to take his very first steps. It’ll be a day filled with the heartbreak of a failed marriage, mingled with exciting toddler milestones.
Cathey, I have some birthday advice, and I hope you listen. Continue reading

Are You Listening To Me?
Are you a Knower or a Listener?
Several years ago I was having a water cooler discussion with a man at work. He said, “I’m trying to become a listener.”
I asked, “You mean a better listener?”
“No, a Listener,” he said.
He then explained Continue reading
